Ten new AH1N1 flu cases in Latvia

Another ten new AH1N1 flu cases were confirmed at the Latvian Infectious Diseases Center last week.

Therefore, 26 new flu cases have been officially confirmed so far this week informs Leta.

As reported, seven AH1N1 virus cases were confirmed at the Infectious Diseases Center on Wednesday, five cases on Tuesday, and another three on Monday, which suggests that the number of AH1N1 cases is increasing in Latvia. Since the first AH1N1 case was officially registered in Latvia this past June, the total number of AH1N1 cases has increased to 63.

Acting Director at the Infectious Diseases Center Jazeps Keiss underlined that, although the number of the new flu cases in growing, so far only some individuals, and not large groups of people, have contracted the disease.
