The offbeat medically themed restaurant Hospitalis has changed its location to the Old Town, to a space that is altogether cozier and not as sterile as it was before.

Once you enter, to the right you'll find the Lazarete bistro for speedy lunches and to the left the blue colored Hospitalis.
Originally the restaurant was dreamed up by three local doctors who decided that their colleagues needed a place to meet, eat and have a laugh after all the hard work by the surgical table.
To decorate the place, the basements of the country’s hospitals were raided to unearth a fantastic collection of old medical equipment. Cue glass syringes with screw-on needles, microscopes, medical dictionaries, drips, scalpels and other operating instruments. Seating is in zones so you can enjoy your meal at an autopsy table (a real one), in a dental setting or beside obstetrical stirrups. We were assured that despite their bloody histories all these objects are completely clean.
The international menu presents an average priced selection, ranging from light snacks to nourishing steaks. Restaurant Manager Diana Bilmane said that the steaks are their specialty and are extremely delicious. We can assure you that the steaks do not come from the bodies of former patients whose operations were unsuccessful.
Hospitalis offers a “crazy menu”, as if the setting were not crazy enough, where for €17 you’re bound in a straight-jacket and fed soup by one of the sexy nurse-waitresses. Or for €50 you get half a kilogram of Argentinean steak served rare and stitched up so that you have to perform an operation in order to eat it. If you've ever dreamed of becoming a surgeon, wait no longer and hurry along to Hospitalis. There are decent wines to steady your hand and many of the reasonably priced cocktails are served in medical vessels.

Amazing venue, how to get there? Is it necessary to book ahead?
