Baltic Financial Forum

Baltic Financial Forum (annual conference “Banking and Finance in the Baltics”) is an international financial conference dedicated to the most important developments in the economy, financial sector, as well as banking system development opportunities in the EU countries and CIS.

The main topics of the 14th Baltic Financial Forum:

• US subprime mortgage crisis – the impact on the economy and the banking system across the EU and Russia
• How will US economy slowdown hit EU and emerging economies? Scenarios for the next decade
• High energy and commodity prices boost inflation. What tools can be applied to bring it under control?

Each year the Forum gathers around 400 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, other European countries, Russia and CIS.

Traditionally, during the Forum the Ministers of Finance, Governors of the National Banks, legislators and regulators discuss such issues as state budget, inflation, monetary policy and other subjects of the sphere. Business leaders, CEOs and CFOs of the major international and Baltic companies also participate in the Forum. Financial services industry is being presented by banks, asset management, consulting, insurance, leasing and investment companies, as well as pension funds.

Over two days of the Forum, during the plenary sessions speakers and participants discuss the strategic issues that are related to the economies of the Baltic States, their development in the context of the EU, banking system and infrastructure development, investment promotion, Public Private Partnership, financial market supervision and regulation. Professionally advanced parallel sessions devoted to corporate finance, finance management, accounting and audit, asset management and real estate market development are also included in the Forum programme.

The Baltic Financial Forum is organized by The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia, Association of Latvian Commercial Banks, Lithuanian and Estonian bank associations, LBS International Conferences, and Economist Association 2010.
