Latvia's global image is improving due to the fact that the country's government has been able to implement a successful economic recovery program the past year, President Valdis Zatlers told members of the press today after a meeting with Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, informs Leta.

During the meeting, Zatlers informed the prime minister his impressions of the recent Global Economic Forum in Davos.

''We must be very careful, because the first positive economic signs of recovery are very fragile,'' the president warned.

Zatlers also came to the conclusion that Latvia is undergoing the same problems as many other countries. The biggest concerns at the moment are the growing unemployment rate.

At the same time, the president and Dombrovskis also discussed the government's planned measures to stimulate small and medium-size business activities.
