This local company has been in the business since 1961, currently offering several lines of elegant underwear. Currently the biggest producer of lingerie in the Baltics, Lauma operates under two brand names, Lauma and Laumelle. If you want to check out the goods, there’s a Lauma store situated right at the heart of Old Town, on Kaļķu Street.
The main characteristics of this producer’s lingerie are good quality and creative design. Lauma’s collection has an exquisite scale of colours, encompassing luscious tones like mustang, hydrangea and garnet. All new and amazing fabric combinations give women the opportunity to choose more individual lingerie and colors. The average price for a matching set of underwear is around €35. Although the shop has a lackluster atmosphere along with a rather narrow selection, it is a good starting point in understanding Lauma’s popularity among the ladies.
Laumelle will particularly delight the young in spirit, because pieces by this brand are colorful, a touch naive with some childlike features, but full of energy. An interesting aspect of the Laumelle collection is that it is influenced by architecture – graphic decorations with elastic fabric and bright contrasts, themes of Eastern folklore on embroideries with juicy colors and the effects of handmade knitting.
