Strolling through the busy streets of Riga a couple of weeks ago, we accidentally ran into a lovely new gift shop called Muhamors, located next to the recently opened restaurant Lidojumam Labveligs Laiks (which means, incidentally, "good weather for the flight").
The woman behind the concept of the gift shop, Dace Dravniece, opened the little salon together with two friends. All sorts of alluring curiosities are inside, made by the owners and other talented Latvian artists. Dace’s ceramic puffball lamps (€27-72) are one of a kind, staring at you from the shelves and adding to the shp's intriguing atmosphere. Brightly colored knitted mittens, woven rugs and pillows filled with buckwheat husk, promising pleasant sleep at night, are among the assorted oddities. There's plenty of choice for ladies' jewelry too, starting from silver and gold earrings to porcelain beads (€28) that will delight anyone who wants to stand out from the crowd.
