Amazingly, the building itself was originally constructed back in 1201 and a fragment of Riga’s defence wall, which was built between 1201 and 1210, can be seen inside. All of this makes a wonderful historical setting for a meal.

Appropriately enough, 4. Rooms has been part of the city’s dining scene for four years now. On our visit we found a very nicely designed menu with English text pointing the way to several kinds of seafood steaks, such as salmon and trout.

We were taken here on by the rep on a stag do. we were tucked away at the top of the restaurant in a room of our own. The
food took about 1 1/2 hours to arrive and while being cooked ok, was very pricey. main course & a drink ended up about 25
lats each. The following night, we found another restaurant close by, a similar meal was half price!. advice.. if the rep
takes you here, ask to go somewhere else.
