A unique, brand new museum dedicated to the sun has been unveiled in Old Riga.

The bright spark behind this delightfully odd venue, Iveta Gražule, told us that she has been collecting all kinds of things resembling or in the shape of the sun, from around the world, from Mexico to Australia, for many years.
Like a wizened traveler, she testifies that there are no two similar nations or cultures in this wide world. Yet the sun is equally significant for many cultures around the globe and people depict it in many different ways.
There are more than 300 different sun-shaped wall decorations, clocks and mirrors in the Sun Museum's collection and in a spirit of creativity Iveta invites everyone after a tour of the museum to her workshop to paint their very own version of the sun.
Besides all that, there's a special sun souvenir shop where Iveta sells sun-decorated mittens, handmade jewelry, keytags and, as you can imagine, much much more. Good old-fashioned fun, especially for families.
