The Sardinian restaurant Murales has opened in place of the elegant Light restaurant that used to occupy the same place in the upmarket shopping lanes of Berga bazars.

The restaurant has been completely revamped, now offering a much cozier setting and a distinctly Italian atmosphere. Shortly before the grand opening we met for a chat with Tizziana Chess, the beautifully named owner and director of the new venue.
The menu offers a journey through the little-known world of traditional Sardinian food as well as Italian dishes, and we were told that most of the ingredients are delivered direct from the island.
Tizziana is not only the director here but also the chef working hard in the kitchen. So she was able to personally guarantee the freshness of the products and the quality of the dishes.
As a special highlight for this spring, Cipolle onion soup (€4) and Pane Fratau, typical Sardinian bread with pork and sauce and a raw egg, come highly recommended. But save the best till last; Tizziana’s special Tiramisu is truly authentic – sweet, creamy and rich.
