One of the buildings in Riga’s prime real estate has a new tenant, the Japanese restaurant Tokyo City.

Tokyo City is a spacious, minimally decorated venue, even to the point of sacrificing some of its warmth. The menu offers mainly sushi treats, a few un-Japanese courses such as pasta, salads, decent steaks, rolls and buns, as well as a children’s menu. The waiter said that the "extraordinary" baked warm sushi was the special highlight of the place, revealing that no other restaurant in Riga could offer such a meal.
Despite the variety in the menu, the management has promised to keep the three pillions on which Japanese cuisine is based - the freshest and most natural of ingredients as well as high quality.
There's a well-stocked bar of drinks and cocktails at low prices, which will certainly attract a younger crowd before party time begins on the weekends.
With an enjoyable view over the busy city and the trams trundling down Barona through floor-to-ceiling windows, we believe that the treats this venue offers will win it much popularity in near future.
