This famous London deli-style eatery has brought its delicious aromas to Riga.
First established by local butcher Harry Morgan in London back in 1948, here in Riga it opened at the end of the April next to the Hotel Alberts. The restaurant is divided into three areas plus a summer terrace. On our lunchtime visit we were surprised to see only a few people enjoying their meal at Morgan's, so it's still a well-kept secret. On the menu you'll find all the classic dishes, from chicken noodle soup to a hot salt beef and tongue sandwich. We opted for the Telaviv salad (Eur 5.60). It was a sizable portion of falafel medallions served with fresh salad leaves, delicious hummus and warmed up pita bread. There's also a host of hearty meaty dishes, such as Vienna beef salami and eggs, calves' liver with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and Hungarian goulash and rice for the exceptionally hungry. Eating at Harry Morgan is a relaxed and informal experience with staff who really know how to look after you (at some point maybe even too much). And we sincerely hope the place will soon be abundantly packed with locals.
