Any glance at TripAdvisor will tell you Homestay is the B&B to beat in Riga.

What some might describe as its only minus is its out-of-town location in Mežaparks. But the Latvian-New Zealand couple who own this grand, delightfully creaky wooden Swiss-style chalet turn that into a positive by combining the informal pleasures of a stay in the countryside with the proximity (and easy tram ride) to the city center.
