To manufacture the most luxurious shirts possible – this has been the simple vision of German-based company van Laack since 1881. The obvious touch of luxury is clear even in the smallest of features, and the attention to detail is there to express the personality of the wearer.

Van Laack’s elegant shirts first became a “must-have” item for the well-dressed man back in the roaring twenties, when it became one of the fashion industry’s first famous brand names. A renewed vision for the company was created in 2002 when Christian von Daniels, a textile manufacturer, bought the company and set himself the goal of further increasing the exclusivity of the brand. As a result, what began in van Laack’s flagship stores 125 years ago can now be found in over 50 countries worldwide.
It’s possible, of course, to buy what you see, and there’s a good chance it will fit snugly. This season’s collection includes eye-catchingly intricate paisley, floral and other patterns. Buttons are fashioned from natural shell, each one punctured by van Laack’s characteristic and instantly recognizable three holes.
However, the made-to-measure shirts are the key to the company’s success. Naturally they do not come cheap, but in every respect they are impossible to fault.
The two-piece collar on a van Laack made-to-measure shirt is individually shaped and tailored, and it is possible to choose from a multitude of different collar options according to taste and occasion. The width and breadth of the body in these shirts are made to fit the wearer, irrespective of neck size. Cuffs are manufactured with the van Laack inlay, the cuff width tailored to individual measurements.
Van Laack also goes to the extra length of monogramming each unique shirt to emphasize its individuality. And every made-to-measure shirt has a label that records the wearer’s name and personal measurements.
Suits on display are of exceptional quality, made from refined cashmere or merino wool woven by Italian mill Loro Piana.
