Māris Jansons’ years long experience in top-class restaurant, his active work as a board member of the “Latvian Chef’s Club” and his expert advice in TV shows and the press are proof to his professionalism. His prominence as an expert is confirmed by various diplomas and awards, his years long participation in chef and restaurant assessment, as well as certificates about his own participation in local and international competitions. In his career, Māris has had the opportunity to cook for such prominent people as Prince Charles, the French president Jacques Chirac, the German chancellor Gerhard Schröder, the US President George Bush, Sir Elton John, Joe Cocker and many others.

Wine list
Each wine offered in the BIBLIOTĒKA №1 Restorāns wine list has its own story. Guests can enjoy an excellent selection of wines representing 26 Italian wineries, as well as a number of exquisite wines from both the New and the Old World. The team of expert sommeliers will help you choose the most suitable wine for the selected menu to achieve a complete bouquet of flavours. Meanwhile, bartenders of the restaurant have created the list of selected cocktails’ servings as openers for the night. The exquisite wine list is restaurant’s pride, and its high quality has been recognised by the world-leading wine experts from WineSpectator: BIBLIOTĒKA №1 Restorāns is the only one in the Baltic States to have been awarded the Award of Excellence in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
