Monetary deposits have become very popular this summer in Latvia, informed Hansabanka's head of public relations Ivars Svilans.

Holiday Deposits are the preferred type of deposit among Latvia's residents. This summer, Hansabanka's "Ligo!" holiday deposit fund has attracted LVL 78.651 million, which is 30% more than during last year's "Ligo!" deposit campaign. 10,530 "Ligo!" deposit agreements have been signed this year, which is a 41% increase compared with 2007, informs LETA.
The number of deposit agreements, contracted via Internet banking, has grown by one half – last year only 22.58% of all agreements were concluded using Internet banking; this year the number has grown to 41.4% of the total number of deposit agreements signed.
