Despite having a slightly odd name, Godvil is the newest venue in Riga’s teeming clublife, offering musical variety and concerts with internationally known stars.
Shortly before the club’s grand opening we met its art director, Nazar Zhitkevich, who explained the choice of name; every one of us, he whispered, deep inside, has both God and the Devil. We nodded politely and moved on, having been promised a bouncing party atmosphere encouraged by featuring big international DJs and groups including the likes of Laurent Wolf and De Phazz.
The interior is contemporary, once you get past the cloakroom located beside the front entrance. Allow your senses to lead you into a black-and-silver world with a spacious dancefloor and sizable stage.
There’s a second floor too, a good place for a breather and comfortable to sit and chat with the local youth or eye the shifting crowd. A cavernous separate room keeps the smokers happy and there’s also a room reserved for cigar lovers. And finally, for private parties, red VIP rooms have been created with soft lounges and a seperate stage. Since the club is not located in the center of Riga, it’s definitely worth staying for a while to enjoy the high-quality performances.
I went there. Pretty nice. First ever in Riga, club-concert hall. Good crowd. However sound is pure, barmens are still
learning. So visit it in couple of month - you gonna love it
It is just insane when you have VIP card and dressed up as evening dress . And security (BOLD FAT man, speechless- but do
some sounds (pssss, eeej pastaigaaaties) treat you as you are drunk teenager. When I called club info line, lady told me,
sorry you didn't pass face control and HANG UP.
Little story from big party company. Thank you GODVIL
