Igor Chapurin is part of a new breed of young Russian designers who are making their mark around the world.
His talents were first noticed when he won the young designer contest in Paris, organised by the "Nina Ricci" company. He later went on to make evening dresses for Russian contestants in "Miss Europe", "Miss World" and "Miss Universe".
From 1996 to 1998, by personal invitation of princess Irene Galitzine of Italy, Chapurin designed the first line of the Italian Fashion House Galitzine. This period was a turning point in his creative work and helped him to make wide-ranging contacts in Europe, and attain international recognition.
1998 was a culmination year for the young fashion designer. His haute couture 1999 collection won the highest prize from the Russian Association of High Fashion - "Gold Mannequin". In the same year he was given another reward by "Harper's Bazaar" magazine - "Style 98".
But this young talent has not just stopped with fashion. In 2003, Chapurin presented his new major interior design and home decoration project, CHAPURINCASA, in Milan.
To get your own taste of what Chapurin has to offer for women’s fashion for this season head to his newly opened boutique just a stone's throw from Dome Square.
