Doma Antiquavariat, alongside the Dome Cathedral, is no newcomer to Riga, having been in business for some 20 years. When visiting Riga, step back in time and perhaps come away with a lovely bit of history.

One of the best things about Riga is that no matter how many times you wander down the cobblestone streets of Old Town, there’s always something new to catch your eye – or something old in this instance. Doma Antiquavariat, alongside the Dome Cathedral, is no newcomer to Riga, having been in business for some 20 years. However, it’s new to whomever strolls in this fresh and sparkling antique shop.

Owner Veronika Kirija takes great pride in displaying fine and lovely antiques as if they just been created. Not a mote of dust touches the porcelain figurines and plates. Candelabras sparkle and delicate French cabinets and vanities glow with polish. This is an antique shop that even the trendiest shopper would feel comfortable in.Although this collection of treasures come from all around Europe, most pieces are Latvian and Russian. Peruse the large selection18th and 19th century Russian Orthodox icons or beautiful 19th century pastoral oil paintings in rich gold frames. Wonder at the stories behind the Russian estate jewelry. Small bronze statues, crystal vases or Rococo furniture tempt the eye.
